What if it’s true...? Part 7: God has made us righteous

Is your spirit at peace?
Do your daily mistakes burden you with guilt?
Do you set yourself goals of prayer, bible study, and love towards others, but fail to keep them?
Do you feel stuck in a cycle of "sin, repent, try again"?
Do you have trouble believing that you are righteous, accepted, or even loved in God’s eyes, when all you can see are your failings?

Gal 2:16  Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. (KJV)

Thank God! The faith of Jesus Christ, the trusting obedience in God that Jesus displayed throughout his life and in his death on the cross for our sake, has bought us freedom from the Law and from judgement. We are made righteous forever, not by our own stumbling attempts to please God, but because of Jesus Christ’s perfect faith in his Father.

2 Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (KJV)

Be at peace. Meditate on Jesus and his perfect sin-offering on the cross. Rest in the righteousness that is yours forever, and do not let yourself be trapped again by the Law.

Gal 2:19-21 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. (KJV)
