What if it’s true….? Part 3: God loves us

God promises us that he loves us. Forever.  And because of his great love, he promises to:
  • provide for us
  • heal us
  • set us free
  • bless us
  • change us to be like Jesus
  • give us abundant and everlasting life
and too many more precious promises in Scripture to list them all here.

But.

Do we dare to believe him?

Could you, just for one moment, shut your eyes and relax into God’s love? Allow your mind and heart to be filled with the thought that he loves you without asking why, or how? Allow yourself to respond to him?

Do you, like me, find this a challenge? Why?

Yes, I do find this challenging as well Penny. I find it easy to believe *in* him, but struggle to just believe him. Not sure why. Maybe it's an issue of feeling deserving or maybe just an inability or unwillingness to let go of what I *think* I control. Perhaps I'm too comfortable with my own ways and fear the unknown of letting go. It goes back to believe in vs. believe. Yes, I believe he knows what's best but maybe I just don't believe him when he says he'll take care of it if I just let him.

I hope my thoughts aren't too rambling. It's bed time :)

Glad to hear from you Ashlee! I have found that it's much easier to have faith on someone else's behalf, than it is to believe God will come through for me. The root cause for me always comes back to believing I am accepted and loved in spite of my flaws.

I thank God that he has a looooong perspective, and my daily/weekly/monthly ups and downs are only a tiny a blip when viewed from eternity!
